~tilix says hello!

tilix is an invite-only subcommunity of tilde.town. We are not officially affiliated with tilde.town, but this project was started by a tilde.town user, for other tilde.town users.

tilix is not meant to replace tilde.town, but does offer some features that tilde.town does not, including:

• Full desktop access via RDP to run any desktop applications remotely
• An XMPP server that can be accessed from any location to communicate with other tilix users
• More lenient CPU and RAM usage limits (storage is still limited though)
• PHP can be used with the web server

tilix may be for you if you want a cloud computer or access to a private XMPP server! Inquire within tilde.town if you want access. We also have an irc channel on ~town: #tilix

Things you should definitely know

• I (~nebula) am not a very experienced sysadmin, and I am learning as I go on with this experimental project.
• tilix is in such an early state that maxiumum possible resource usage is not currently well known. Limitations or issues may arise later.
• Security is not guaranteed and I do not reccommend storing personal data or accessing personal 3rd party accounts in your web browsers and whatnot. If you would like to store SSH private keys to access other servers (like tilde.town for example), I highly reccommend securing the key with a password.
